Hello! This is a new feature where we share projects which have been on our 'things to try' list for a while.... but just haven't got round to yet. They will still stay on our list (or Pinterest board!), but in the meantime we thought we'd share them for inspiration!

... and a Denim Shirt Cushion Cover
I randomly found a denim shirt in my fabric stash.... probably bought from a charity shop 'just incase'! I'm glad I did buy it though, as it meant I had something to upcycle into a cushion cover!

Tips, Tools & Techniques - Mending Jeans
Hello! Here's our regular feature where we share tips, tools & techniques that have caught our eye, things we have Pinned, and things we have tried. These are probably not going to change your life(!) but might make it a bit easier...
I stopped Matt from throwing out his jeans with holes - confidently declaring that I could mend them! After realising that I had never actually patched a hole, they sat for a while (aka months!) before I turned to Pinterest for help and found a fab tutorial by Create Enjoy

... and a Fourth Textile ATC Swap
We've previously loved taking part in Very Berry Handmade's Artist Trading Card (ATC) swaps (here, here and here). So were delighted when Ali arranged a fourth swap and couldn't wait to take part!

Hello! This is a new feature where we share projects which have been on our 'things to try' list for a while.... but just haven't got round to yet. They will still stay on our list (or Pinterest board!), but in the meantime we thought we'd share them for inspiration!
This is a tutorial by Can Can Dancer on how to turn a t-shirt or tank top into a lovely drawstring tote bag. Make sure you also visit Laura's website and check out all the other fab things she's made!

... and a Button Skull
We've been a bit absent recently. Sorry about that! Today I thought I'd share part of a project I'm working on - a fabric scrap book. I'm mixing up vintage materials with old pictures of skeletons and skulls and having a lovely old play with techniques such as machine embroidery, fabric printing, making embellishments etc. For one of the pages, I decided to have skull made of buttons as the focal point...

... and an Upcycled Tie Pouch... with Link Party & Giveaway!!
Welcome to the May edition of the Ho, Ho, Ho and On We Sew Link Party!
We were delighted when Fiona from Celtic Thistles asked us if we would like to host her Ho, Ho, Ho, and on We Sew Link Party this month and of course said yes straight away! The idea of this feature is to get prepared for Christmas by making something each month and showcasing this on the Link Party. It's such a fab idea and will definitely help us avoid the last minute rush - even if it feels slightly strange talking about Christmas in May!!
We'd love you to show off your Christmas or Holiday themed projects and link up at the bottom of the page. There is also a fantastic giveaway for one lucky entrant!
For our monthly project, we've made an Upcycled Tie Pouch which will hopefully make a great Xmas pressie and can be made from any ties you have lying around!

... and a Handmade Wedding Ring Pillow
My friends Eleanor & John got married last weekend, and it was an amazing day. The whole wedding was meticulously planned out by the the couple (the bride mainly!!) and there were lots of handmade touches that made it really special. My contribution was a wedding ring pillow that Eleanor requested - "not too traditional, or bridal - and colourful to fit in with the rest of the theme". This is what I came up with:

... and some Stitched Word Search Cards
Wow! You can really tell we've been blogging for over a year - this time last year I was making these Space Invader Cards for Dunc and Sach (my brother) who's birthdays are a day apart. This year I decided to venture into printing on fabric to make these cards.

... and a Canvas Tote Bag
I always seem to work best under pressure and have a bad habit of leaving everything until the last minute.... and making this bag as part of my sister's Christmas present was no different! I had carefully chosen the fabric and planned it out 'in my head' weeks before, but still managed to leave it until Christmas Eve to even start! Luckily I found a great Tote Bag post by My Growing Home and finished it just in time.

... and a Zip Heart Valentine's Card
Well there's no avoiding it any more. Valentine's Day is coming and there are hearts EVERYWHERE! As I mentioned last year in my Paint Swatch Valentine's Cards post, I'm not normally a fan, but it is totally mandatory to at least make a card!!
