... and a Handmade Wedding Ring Pillow

My friends Eleanor & John got married last weekend, and it was an amazing day. The whole wedding was meticulously planned out by the the couple (the bride mainly!!) and there were lots of handmade touches that made it really special. My contribution was a wedding ring pillow that Eleanor requested - "not too traditional, or bridal - and colourful to fit in with the rest of the theme". This is what I came up with:

I have been obsessed with all the posts on Pinterest where people have used embroidery and cross stitch on every day objects... And I finally got round to doing one of my own! This could be a great back to school project to organise a homework station, but we don't have to deal with any of that...yet!

... and Gift Bag Transformations!

We were delighted to be asked recently by Carrier Bag Shop to review and transform some of their gift paper bags by adding our own crafty twist to them*! With all the gifts we've been making, and because we are hoping to enter the scary world of selling our items soon, we thought it would be a great opportunity to try a variety of styles of packaging them...

... and a Cross Stitch Cushion Cover

I discovered Cross Stitch a couple of years ago. I was immediately hooked, but I must admit there are a lot of patterns out there that are... well... just not me. So when I found these African sunset ones, I knew I would love doing them and I would be able to offload give them as presents to my mum (who is from Kenya and has a her whole lounge room dedicated to the continent).
