7 Ways to Get 'Ready for Autumn & Winter' Decor
As Autumn deepens and Winter draws
ever closer it is time to think about 'battening down the hatches'.
Windows and vents are closed, curtains are drawn and the cold, grey and
miserable weather is left outside. But how best can we make the best of our
décor to see us through the chill and dark? These seven tips and hints should
see you through to the spring when we can once again open the curtains and
windows to let light and sunshine flood in.
1. Warm it up
Add warmth to your rooms by adding
rich fabrics and colours. Now is the time to emphasise solid dark furniture,
heavy velvets and any feature that serves to create a barrier between the home
and the outside world.

... and the Yellow Suitcase Exhibition
The Yellow Suitcase project has been founded by a group of people who live, survive and are in recovery from mental health issues. The idea of the project is to get people talking about mental health by taking the yellow suitcase to places of work, community groups and organisations around Reading (UK). More often than not one of the most difficult things about having a mental health problem is talking about it, in fear of stigma and discrimination in the workplace.
You can read more about this project on the Yellow Suitcase Project website. "We all have a common dream and shared hope that people suffering with mental health issues, have the right information, help and support, they need to make the most informed decisions about managing their mental health".

... and a Shrink Plastic Skeleton
Well, I've given in and decided to do a Halloween post... I'm not against it or anything, its just that its never really been a big deal in our house. But this post is being brought to you mainly because I've wanted to use shrink plastic for AGES but couldn't think of anything I wanted to try it out on. In a way I wish I hadn't tried it because it is so much fun, I think I could be hooked!

...and Having Fun with Peg Dolls!
Emma from Emma Made recently did a fab guest post for us on Fabric Pompoms for her wedding and we were delighted when she asked us to do one in return! As we had been given a bag of wooden pegs - complete with pipe cleaner arms, from a good friend of ours (Teresa), it gave us the perfect excuse to release our inner child and make some peg dolls!
To read the full post and find out how we made these, please head over to Emma's blog here.
