... and Using Local Letters!

This is a bit of a different post from us today. We thought we’d try and play around with some photography and see how we could use it in a project. Recently we saw these Typography safaris on offer in London and although we haven’t been able to book onto it for time (and life!) reasons, we wondered if we could do something similar and use some of the letters in our local area.  Of course we are NOT trying to imply that this is a substitute!

... and a DIY Light Box

One of our goals from our 6 month review was to improve our photos, especially the process shots. Something we find tricky is getting the lighting right and finding the best time of day and setting to get a good shot. With the evenings now getting darker *sigh* it's going to be even harder to catch the light.... So what better time to make our own light box!! We took our inspiration from this great tutorial by Flax and Twine.
PS. If you would like to read about our Homemade Lightbox that helps with tracing, drawing etc please click here. Otherwise please read on!!!

... and our Embroidery & Mixed Media Course

As mentioned before, we recently went on an Embroidery and Mixed Media Course at Farncombe Estate. Our tutor was Rosalind Davis, who is an amazing artist, curator and tutor - please check out her website here for more information and some examples of Rosalind's work.

...and Inspiration from Nature (with a Wigglegram Tutorial!)

This weekend we were both away in the Cotswolds for our Experimenting with Embroidery and Mixed Media course (more on what we created coming soon!!). In preparation for this course, we were asked to bring along a range of images to use as inspiration for the pieces we would be making. This was a residential at Farncombe Estate which had beautiful grounds and scenery, so it was a great opportunity to get the camera out!
