SILKFELT Collective Mermaid Project - Body image and modification or what we’ll do for love… The story of the Little Mermaid resonates with contemporary concerns and fantasies around body image, in a superficial world where so-called 'perfection' is sought but proves to be an unattainable ideal - despite the pain of fad dieting, uncomfortable clothing and cosmetic surgery.
