... and a Wood Pencil Pot

For Christmas I decided that I would try and make some little homemade presents for family, but as with most ideas I have, I did end up leaving a lot to the last minute! One of the quicker projects was a wooden pencil pot for my Dad, which was designed to match with the Wood Coasters I made for his birthday.

To make this, I started by cutting a log to size and sanded away any rough bits.
I then drilled some holes in the top (which were about the depth of half a pen) and gave it two coats of wood varnish.
To finish off, I cut and glued a piece of felt to the bottom to make sure it didn't scratch the furniture!
And that's it.... I told you it was a quick project!!
This is now sitting on my Dad's desk at home, along with the coasters. I wonder if there any other wood related presents I could make him..... any ideas?!
