... and some Felt Coasters

I was trying to come up with a clever / witty reason why I made these. But the truth is I saw this post by The Gold Jellybean and I just wanted to! I also read recently that you don't need a long drawn out intro into a post as sometimes people just want to see what you made and how you did it. Any thoughts on this? Anyway, here are my felt coasters:

... and some Wood Coasters

Today I thought I would share with you a really quick and easy project - some wood coasters I made for my Dad's birthday...
I started off with a log and sawed it into circles, trying to keep them as even and level as possible! To give the coasters a bit of colour and make them waterproof, I gave each of them two coats of varnish.

... and some Paint Swatch Coasters

... and a Button Coaster

I loved this post by Morning Creativity on DIY Button Coasters, so thought I would give it a go myself.
I decided to 'tweak' the design slightly, so instead of sticking the buttons to each other I glued them directly to a piece of felt.  I have convinced myself that I chose this method  because it then makes a nice soft base.... however it is mainly because it requires a lot less patience!
