... and some Wood Coasters

Today I thought I would share with you a really quick and easy project - some wood coasters I made for my Dad's birthday...
I started off with a log and sawed it into circles, trying to keep them as even and level as possible! To give the coasters a bit of colour and make them waterproof, I gave each of them two coats of varnish.

Ronseal... does what it says on tin!!
Once they had dried, I traced round each coaster onto felt and glued this to the bottom. This helped make sure they were stable and didn't scratch any surface when used.
And that's all there is to it... simple!!
As my Dad is a keen gardener they could be used inside or outside for that well deserved tea break!!

We are linking up to these parties!
