I'd seen this post a while ago by My Poppet and fell in love with the scrappy felt fabric. I had loads of scraps from various projects and decided to try something similar but ended up going in a slightly a different way. I think its called Crazy Patchwork?
I put together a few of the scraps and needle felted them together at the ends to fuse the fibres (I knew I would have trouble with machine stitching if they weren't attached a little!). I measured the case and worked out I needed two pieces approx 18cm X 10cm each.
After felting the pieces, I used a zigzag stitch in black all over each of the join lines. It was a bit rough in places but I have decided that adds to the effect!
Finally I trimmed around the case cover, getting as close to the zip as possible whilst still allowing it to open and close properly.
Ta Dah! Much prettier!
Your glasses case will brighten up the dullest day :)
