... and Laundry Cupboard Makeover

This post is not a particularly 'crafty' one, but it certainly is a project that's been on my to do list for a while! So I thought I'd share how I organised by laundry cupboard, as an incentive for actually getting on with it!

We use the old boiler cupboard as a laundry cupboard (or general dumping space). This was the before.... now do you see why I've been putting it off for so long....!
First step was to take everything out and have a good sort. I found plenty of towels/sheets that we hadn't used for ages, so found them a new home via Freecycle

Next I tried to find ways of keeping everything neat and tidy. I took inspiration from Simi's Cupboard Organisation and used little plastic baskets as handy storage for face cloths....
 .... and microfiber cloths.
Another little basket for 'bit and bobs' and of course my Facecloth Toothbrush Wrap!
I found a storage basket which just fits a large pack of toilets rolls - to save them rolling around everywhere. Then a wire basket I had in the garage, is now used for dog towels.
Then it was just a case of refolding the towels and sheets - using separate shelves for double and king size sets. An old wine box came in handy for even more 'bits and bobs'!
I even managed to squeeze in my steamer and find a spot on the wall to hang dusters/broom.
This cupboard is never going to be super pretty (like the ones I see on Pinterest!), but it is 100% better than it was. I can now actually find what I'm looking for and I'm glad to say that it has stayed this way for at least 2 weeks... fingers crossed I can keep it that way!

What types of storage solutions do you use for your cupboards?!

    1. I've got plenty of other cupboards to do first!! You can certainly get more in a small space when it's tidier ;) x

  4. It looks great, and I bet it was a very satisfying feeling to cross it off your list! My favourite bit of organising is to keep the bedding in sets all stored in one of the pillowcases so I only have to look for one thing not a whole heap each time!
