Last week we enjoyed a fantastic day out at The Handmade Fair! Here's what we got up to....
The Handmade Fair was set in the beautiful grounds of Hampton Court Palace. The sun was shining, so we enjoyed a stroll around even before we got to the main event!
The pompoms we made for #World Pomination were gratefully received and it was lovely to see everyone's contributions all strung together.
The actual fair was a mix of stalls, workshops and demonstrations in large marquees beautifully decorated with bunting and vintage accessories. There was a lovely, relaxed vibe with lots of friendly welcoming faces. We of course had to sample the yummy ice cream too!
Zeena Shah. We got to try our hand at sketching a simple shape, cutting it with lino tools and then rollering on the link. It was interesting to experiment and see discover the different effect of amount of ink and levels of pressure. We'll definitely be trying more of this technique in the future!
It looks like you had a lovely day at the fair. Your photos are amazing. I'm sure you had a great time.ReplyDelete
We had a fantastic day & can't wait until the next one! xDelete
Looks sunny and great fun and the Lino prints look like they give really interesting textures.ReplyDelete
Have a lovely crafty week, Alison
Thanks Alison, hope you have a fun filled, crafty week too! xDelete
What a fab day! Love your prints. Looks like Melody enjoyed herself as well! xxReplyDelete
Thanks Jen. Think Melody fancied her hand at lino printing too! xDelete
I would have loved to have gone, but it's a little far from me in Devon! Looks like you had a great time, and Melody looks like she had fun too!ReplyDelete
We had a fab time, thanks. A bit of a trip for you from Devon though :) xDelete
It was really interesting to read your account - I was invited but it's such a long trip I couldn't find the time out to come along. It won't be long before Melody is trying to join in!! xReplyDelete
Thanks Wendy. You're never too young to start crafting!! xDelete
It looks very much as though fun was had by all! I love the scotty dog picture :)ReplyDelete
He was very cute & must have been done by someone with very green fingers! xDelete
Sounds like a lovely day out. The pom poms looked fabulous! Wonder if the stall holders found it worthwhile, it's be good to think some events were worth doing!!ReplyDelete
It was really busy in all the tents, so hopefully it was good for all the stall holders! xDelete
The fair looks amazing, I wonder how long the finished pom pom trail was.ReplyDelete
The pompoms were part of a world record attempt - but haven't heard if they broke it or not! xDelete
It looks like a wonderful event and your lino prints are gorgeous! I really hope they hold another event next year because I'd love to go :)ReplyDelete
Thanks Carie. We're crossing our fingers that there will be another event next year too! xDelete
