Tips, Tools & Techniques - Homemade Sugar Scrub

Hello! Here's our regular feature where we share tips, tools & techniques that have caught our eye, things we have Pinned, and things we have tried. These are probably not going to change your life(!) but might make it a bit easier...
When my body scrub ran out recently, I decided to give a DIY version a go and followed this fab Pantry Raid DIY Sugar Scrub Tutorial by Allison at Dream a Little Bigger.

For my ingredients I used some dark brown sugar (which was lurking at the back of cupboard!), granulated white sugar, honey and coconut oil.  Allison's top tip is to use 2 parts dry to 1 part wet ingredients.
Then it's time to get mixing until you get the consistency you like. I zapped the coconut oil in the microwave so that it turned into liquid and was much easier to mix. I'm not a fan of really sweet smells, so I chose to add a few drops of tea tree oil - but of course you can use any scent you like!
Once you've finished mixing, just add it to a suitable container and you're done!
The beauty of this recipe is that you can mix and match the ingredients depending on what you have in your cupboards! You could also experiment with different oils e.g. olive or almond and different sugars.
I have used this a couple of times now and LOVE it!! It makes my skin feel super soft and the coconut oil smell reminds me of holidays! This is such a quick project and would make a lovely gift as well..... think I may make a couple more for Christmas!
