... and Five Minute Thank You Cards

Melody is 3 months old so I thought I'd better get round to doing some Thank You cards for the lovely presents she received when she was born (prompt yes?!!). Sometimes you have the time to make really impressive "WOW" cards. This is not one of those posts! I needed a way to do a lot of cards quickly, that still looked personal...

All you need are paper scraps from your stash, alphabet stamps (optional), and some pens for doodling. I had these small bits of scrapbook paper left over from another project (to be revealed soon!).
I trimmed them to fill up most of the space on the cards, and stamped "Thank You!" on them with some ransom note alphabet stamps.
Now some people would create gorgeous, elaborate cards with lots of matting and layering etc. I decided to stick the pieces straight onto the cards, and just finish off with some doodles (including defining the letters). Here are some before and afters:

And here's a couple more...
And this next one is not that great but I added it to the pile anyway!
And that's it! Each card took less than 5 minutes - and with a little baby and a 5 year old running around, sometimes that's OK!! Hope the friends and family like them...
Do you have any tips for quick and easy cards?

  1. Cards don't always have to be elaborate to be appealing. I think yours are lovely.

  3. Very impressed - how you even considered making them with a baby and a 5 year old around I will never know but I do think your doodles finished them off perfectly :)

  6. What lovely cards. I like the green dotty one best, with the Thank You overlapping the edge.

  7. Really nice personal thank you cards - more meaningful to your family and friends than shop bought ones I'm sure. Gosh I didn't manage anything like that with young children!

  10. They are great, having any free time with the littlies is hard, so sometimes swift is best - and no-one would know that they only took 5 minutes or so to create.
