... and a Visit to the Handmade Fair

Last week we enjoyed a fantastic day out at The Handmade Fair! Here's what we got up to....

The Handmade Fair was set in the beautiful grounds of Hampton Court Palace. The sun was shining, so we enjoyed a stroll around even before we got to the main event!

The pompoms we made for #World Pomination were gratefully received and it was lovely to see everyone's contributions all strung together.

The actual fair was a mix of stalls, workshops and demonstrations in large marquees beautifully decorated with bunting and vintage accessories. There was a lovely, relaxed vibe with lots of friendly welcoming faces. We of course had to sample the yummy ice cream too!
In the afternoon we went along to the Lino Print workshop run by the lovely Zeena Shah. We got to try our hand at sketching a simple shape, cutting it with lino tools and then rollering on the link. It was interesting to experiment and see discover the different effect of amount of ink and levels of pressure. We'll definitely be trying more of this technique in the future!
Melody kept a watchful eye on us, as we managed to cover ourselves in ink!!
Our visit to The Handmade Fair was so much fun and a great crafty inspiration. We can't wait until the next one!!
