I had been getting in the swing of planting seeds and potting up plants, but then disaster struck and I ran out of plant labels (I'm not even being melodramatic!!). This crisis was averted when I remembered this post by
The Micro Gardener and made my own labels using a milk bottle!
This really is a super simple project. Just wash and dry a used plastic milk bottle....
.... take a section of the bottle, trace around a plant label and cut out. You could even save the top part to make a
Milk Bottle Scoop!
Then just decorate to your hearts content! I used Sharpies so that it was waterproof.... and also discovered that drawing carrots is definitely not my forte!!
Stick it in your plant pot and that's all there is to it!
My greenhouse is beginning to look like day of the triffids - which is why I ran out of labels!

Upcycled Boot Planter has started flowering too....
You could use these labels again next year (permanent marker should come off with a bit of meths), or just recycle and start again. I certainly won't be buying any more plant labels now that I've discovered this!
