... and a Paint Swatch Needle Case

Here is a really quick and easy way to make a needle case using paint swatches... inspired by a fab post by Sew Many Ways
All you need to make these needle cases are some paint swatches and felt.
Start by folding over the bottom of the paint swatch and then fold the top over to create a flap (this is the same method as I used for the Paint Swatch Mini Notebooks). Then cut a piece of felt to fit.
For this version I used a straight machine stitch along the bottom, to keep the felt in place
For this version I used some all purpose glue to secure the felt. Both ways seem to work well, so it really depends what look you want to go for!
These are so quick to make and really handy for keeping different types of needle separate. I've also been using them when I'm in the middle of a project.... rather than using cushions or jeans as temporary storage! What do you use to keep your needles safe?

  2. Brilliant idea - I usually stick my needle in a cushion (and lose it!) - might make a few of these for little crafty stocking fillers!

  3. A great idea, you could even add some matching thread through the needles as an emergency repair kit.
