... and Fabric Scrap Christmas Cards

Today we have another post on Christmas cards (well it is that time of year after all!!).... this time they are made using fabric scraps and machine stitching.
For these cards I used a small card (3.5 x 3.5 inches) and made a template for my Christmas stocking design.
After cutting out my fabric, I used free motion machine embroidery to applique it to another piece of plain fabric.
I then cut out the whole piece, so that it could just be glued with Pritt Stick onto the card. Here are some of the different colour combos I went with!
I then tried out a couple more designs as well....
It was quite therapeutic making these cards, and a great way to use up all those small fabric scraps I'd saved 'just incase'! A Christmas CD also helped get me in the festive spirit!!

The other Christmas cards we've made are Stitched Washi Tape Cards and Paint Swatch Christmas Cards. What type of cards have you been making this year?

  1. I love stitching on cards, I keep a needle especially for this though as it seems to blunt them quite badly, do you find the same?

    1. For these ones I stitched all the fabric first & then glued to card :) But usually I keep a separate needle for card, as they def do get blunt! x
