... and a Facecloth Toothbrush Wrap

Whenever I pack to go away, I hate the thought of putting my toothbrush 'loose' in my washbag. I've tried those plastic toothbrush holders, but I never seem to be able to clean them properly *sigh*! But all is not lost... while browsing on Pinterest I saw that people had made a travel wrap from a facecloth.... a perfect solution to my toothbrush related dilemma!!
Although I took my inspiration from Pinterest, I didn't follow any particular pattern and as per usual made it up as I went along! Here's what I did...

Materials

  • Facecloth
  • Ribbon
  • Button (optional)
  • Sewing bits
I had a nice bright yellow facecloth in my cupboard so started with this and then laid out my toothbrushes/toothpaste to get a rough idea of measurements. I folded over the bottom, pressed and roughly pinned where I wanted the pockets. I decided to go with three smaller and two bigger pockets, but this will depend on the size of your facecloth and what you want to add to it.
Other toothbrush brands are available...!
I sewed lines into the bottom half to make each pocket and secure the ends. These will show on the outer side, so probably best to match the thread to the colour of the material as much as possible.
In my 'stash' I found a yellow ribbon with daisies that matched nicely, so I pinned and sewed this to one end (on the outerside).
As I could see the stiches, I sewed on a button to cover them up. OK so it was just an excuse to use a pretty button!!
And that's it!
So now my toothbrush will be kept nice and clean and it can just be chucked in the wash afterwards! I can't wait to try it out!
