... and Make Your Own Fridge Magnets

A new year means getting my mum's old fridge magnet calendar (you know - the free one that comes from estate agents, printers etc) for a quick and simple project:

Materials:
  • Old calendar for fridge / magnetic memo board  (I know you can buy magnetic sheets from arts and crafts shops but that is NOT what this project is about!!!)
  • Scissors - any will do but obviously not your best paper or fabric ones!
  • Stickers of your choice - mine were picked by Mally. I would love to do "grown-up" ones too one day, I have lots in my stash!

Here is a great sticker book that we got ages ago. It has LOADS of great Lego themed stickers!

Its as simple as sticking your stickers onto the magnetic sheet (trying to make sure you work out your spacing so you get as many stickers on there - we snuck some smaller Mr Men ones on to fill up the spaces...)

And then cutting them out with scissors.

Easy! As well as putting these on your fridge, you can make your own story board for kids to make up stories and scenes. This one uses an old baking sheet; I really must pretty it up at some point and paint it!

The stickers above are from doing this project last year with mum's 2011 calendar; I had to wait a whole year before I could do it again! She's so selfish!!! (Only joking!!!).

So there you have an extremely simple, cheap and fun project. I love ones like this!!!
Anyone got any ideas for different themes?!
